Unlock Those Hips - Increase Speed!

Chances are your hip flexors are stopping you from running, swinging and throwing as fast and hard as you can. Not because they aren't strong enough, but because they are too tight!

When your hip flexors are too tight - and because we sit so often, most of us have VERY tight hip flexors - our posterior chain muscles (glutes, hamstrings)do not "fire" properly. The body always tries to protect us, so when one muscle is tigh, it's antagonist (opposite) muscle(s) do not function properly or at maximum effeciency.

When you can "unlock" your hips all of a sudden your body is able to recruit the glutes and hamstrings so you can swing, throw and run at higher levels.

Here is a very simply drill to do to help unlock your hips. Be sure you are properly warmed-up - preferably after a dynamic warm-up session.

Hold the position for 30 seconds then repeat for opposite side. You simply cannot do this drill enough, especially if your hip flexors are very tight.

Since over 90% of Americans complain of back pain at some point in their life, this drill can be effective for anyone. Tight hip flexors alter the body's natural, correct posture and place undue stress on the back.

This drill can help you be healthier AND perform at a higher level!

Product Update

I've been getting flooded with emails asking about my new products that are coming out soon. So I decided just to answer it all in one place. So here it goes:

How To Get A Baseball Scholarship - This is the most comprehensive package ever put together to help you get a college baseball scholarship. Look for this late May/early June.

Brain Domination - A CD that you can listen to and become a better baseball player automatically? I didn't believe it either - but the results speak for theselves. And that CD is just the bonus! If that wasn't enough, this CD is backed by iron-clad clinical research! Look for this late May/Early June as well.

Factual Hitting DVD's - Forget all the hitting theories. We are sick and tired of endless hitting debates. EXACTLY what the pros do - based on high-speed film - not a guess on what they "feel" like they are doing or what the naked eye tells us. Simply put - The Last Hitting DVD's You'll EVER need. Look for this in July.

8 week Bat Speed & Power Program - Increase bat speed 16 MPH in 8 weeks. That's right - 2 MPH per week! The Strength & Conditioning Program I use with my MLB players. Look for this in July as well.

Got Core? Baseball Core Training

Hey all...

Just returned for 11 days down in sunny Florida. Put in 14-16 hour days each day, but it's well worth it. All of my MLB players are all set for their in-season programs after incredible progress during off-season routines. Multiple All-Stars and maybe even a Cy Young and MVP are in the bunch...

What I'm most proud of is only 1 of my MLB players made a trip to the DL last year, at that was a freak accident that couldn't have been prevented. Sure my job is to improve performance, but I feel my number 1 goal is to allow these highly-skilled athletes to remain on the field every game because when that happens everyone wins!

And considering injury rates have skyrocketed over the last decade, this is a tremendous acomplishment. 99% of injuries are not acute, meaning they happen instantly. So improper training methods play a major role in this and most athletes simply don't realize their hard work in the gym is actually making them more prone to injuries!

So if you're a MLB player and can't stay on the field, I highly suggest you contact me. I can make you millions and save your career.

On a different note, I've just posted a new article on my website called "Got Core: Baseball Core Training"

Learn what core training is, why it's so important and why most are doing this COMPLETELY wrong...

I highly suggest you go read it NOW...

Spring Training Report: A Message From MLB Stars To You...

Sorry I've been MIA the past week weeks, but I've been swamped down
in Florida & Arizona getting my MLB players all set on their
in-season programs for the upcoming year...

Spring Training is great because the player's are all excited to be
here. They are pumped to get back into the sun and play the game
they love (and the one that pays them a LOT of dough!)...

Because all of my contracts with professional ballplayers are
confidential (hey, you can never be too careful these days) I can't
tell you who said the following, but rest assuring this message is
coming from multiple MLB superstars...

Every player was in your situation when they were a kid. Although
it's tough to imagine now, there was no guarantee they would become
a pro baseball player. In fact, the odds were against them!

Sure they dreamed about it. They all hit countless walk-off home
runs in the bottom of the ninth in the 7th game of the World Series
in their backyard...just like you do!

The truth is, for every Albert Pujols & Ken Griffey Jr, there are
hundreds of "can't miss" prospects who never made it. So even if
the odds may be against you at this point, don't pay any attention
to them...

The point is, they all wanted me to relay the same message to
you..."Keep dreaming about being a Major Leaguer. Keep working
hard!"

Don't let anyone tell you otherwise...because even the best players
in the game have been told at one point, by somebody, that they
wouldn't make it.

But don't rest on your laurels, make sure you outwork the next guy
if you truly want to play in the MLB some day. On top of working
hard, make sure you are working smart and following the advice on
all of my articles!

So if you're a coach or parent please pass this onto the players in
your life. And if you're a player reading this, take the message to
heart because these MLB players, and myself, truly want you to
succeed and reach your dreams...and we are here to help every step
of the way!

Be on the lookout for some great articles in the coming weeks on
core strength, bat speed, and arm strength, among others!

Here's to making this season your best ever!

Best,
Jon Doyle
